The Digital Citizenship Academy is a series of
Digital technologies have become part of the learning and teaching ecosystem
in schools and districts throughout the world. Technology provides unprecedented
opportunities for interaction, research and creativity, but the speed at which
these new tools are emerging raises questions: How can schools address
responsible technology use without a strategic plan? Where can schools and
districts find resources for crafting a digital citizenship plan?
This course helps to create a foundation for addressing
those questions while supporting digital creativity, today and into the future.
It explores how to help all members of the school community understand how
topics such as cyberbullying, digital identity and digital ownership fit into
the larger picture of learning, working and playing in a digital world. Upon
completion of this course, you'll be prepared to work with students, parents,
and other district and community stakeholders to develop a strategic digital
citizenship plan that promotes socially, ethically and legally responsible
digital age learning.
